Social Responsibility at Transcom means:
- Taking a sustainable and ethical approach to carrying out our company’s mission to provide high quality service to our clients and customers.
- Encouraging our people’s goodwill, energy and enthusiasm to put Transcom’s Five Key Values into action by participating in community-based and international charitable activities. There are simply too many examples to mention but the following activities highlight some of the ways in which Transcom and its people have supported good causes this year!
- Supporting the Transcom family in its time of need:
- Earthquake in the Italian city of L’Aqilla
- Tropical storms and flooding in Manila, Philippines
- Earthquake in Chile
- Charity funds were established and Transcom employees donated over $200,000 to our employees affected by natural disaster in 2009.
North American Efforts:
- Our sites in North America organized many innovative and fun charitable activities in 2009.
Our region’s employees invested 3500 hours of their time to help to raise an amazing total of $104,893.00 CAD. Although we support many non-profitable organizations few of our recipient charities are The Heart & Stroke Foundation, The Canadian Cancer Society, The Salvation Army, The Boys & Girls Club of America and Women in Crisis.
- Transcom also plans dress down days to support charities such as Adopt a Family during the holiday season.
- Some of the events included; bowling competitions, food collections, golf tournaments, and 12-hour walking marathons.
